Food for Thought: “Away”

We live in a time of unprecedented connection, but we somehow manage to be less connected to the people with whom we are most intimately enmeshed.

So much of our economy relies on the assumption that there is always an “away” into which we can throw our waste. Ours is an economy of ghosts, of deliberate blindness.

Now more than ever do we need to ditch this “out of sight, out of mind” mentality and bring those most affected by climate change to the forefront of the fight.
