Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are investing heavily in space exploration. They are doing this because they strongly believe that the that humans need to move into space to survive as a species.

But other planets are even less habitable than earth, yet billions of dollars are being allocated to this effort.

Why do we choose to explore other planets when we can’t even live within our mean on our own planet?
