The Sun – a nature poem

I lie out in the beautiful sun.
Filling every bit of myself
With her warmth.
I am so greedy,
I want every ounce
Of the heat she beats down.
I am so hungry for it
I don’t care of my skin burns.
I am afraid
That without her warmth
I will be frozen here,
Frozen in time
Stuck in this cycle
I pray that her warmth
can set me free.
If only for a moment,
I can be lost in her embrace
And forget
That I am indefinitely trapped.
